Carmel Art Association

The Carmel Art Association is a non-profit art gallery based in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. It has represented local artists since 1927 and currently represents over 70 painters, printmakers, and sculptors.

I was CAA’s in-house graphic designer and marketing specialist from 2020 to 2023. My challenge was to develop a brand that felt authentic to the organization, as well as establish and expand its social media presence.

In rebranding the Carmel Art Association, my main puzzle was to create a visual brand that honors the history of the organization while keeping it fresh and modern.

I resources imagery from the gallery’s archive and pulled inspiration from the physical atmosphere of the gallery and it’s environment.
